What does it cost?
This is a new service product, and standards for "usual and customary" fees are still emerging. You will be able to send payment according to what you can (with some effort) afford and what you think the service is worth to you.
GOOD NEWS! I now am set up for you to charge your fees to your Visa or MasterCard, through the secure PayPal service, at X.com.
All other payments should be sent to me by snail-mail at the address below. I will keep this flexible approach as long as I feasibly can, and while people do not take advantage of my goodwill and trust. Please note that I am not supported by United Way!
In this part of the country, the usual fee for an hour of face-to-face psychotherapy is $110. Persons who are "self-pay" rather than covered by insurance may be offered a reduced rate of about $75. I would like to be able to use a sliding scale that slides a bit lower, but I follow the policies of the organization I work for.
Online counseling is not face-to-face psychotherapy. Presumably there is less overhead than there would be in maintaining an office, etc., although there certainly are expenses. Particularly, upgrading the service will be somewhat costly, and I will need to earn the capital investment solely from my work with online clients.
